Cleveland, OH (April 8th, 2016) – Strategic Real Estate Coach (SREC) is pleased to announce their partnership with the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network’s 2016 PurpleStride event for the fifth year in a row. The 15th annual 5K and 1.5-mile Family Fun Walk will be held Saturday, June 11, at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo.
SREC founder and CEO, Josh Cantwell is proud to be the presenting sponsor for this great event, as he himself is a pancreatic cancer survivor. Josh was the keynote survivor speaker at PurpleStride Cleveland 2012 and is happy to be involved with this national organization. In the fall of 2011, he discovered a large mass in his abdomen and was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. In November of 2011, he underwent a 10-hour life-saving surgery at the Cleveland Clinic where Dr. Matthew Walsh removed the basketball-sized mass along with other critical organs and blood vessels. Josh has been cancer-free since.

Last year, PurpleStride Cleveland had over 2,000 participants and has raised about 1.5 million dollars since its conception. This year, it is estimated that nearly 53,070 Americans will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and more than 41,780 will die from the disease. Only eight percent of those diagnosed will survive more than five years. The American Cancer Society recently released a report announcing that pancreatic cancer deaths will surpass breast cancer deaths this year, moving from the fourth to the third leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the United States.
