Make the Most of Everyday

Do you maximize your each and every day?

Do you capitalize on your time so that you are the most productive, most energized and most accomplished you that you can possibly be?

Do you know how much time is wasted on non-productive activities such as checking email, surfing the Web, commuting? Do you know how to take that time and turn it into valuable, productive time?

I have a simple challenge for you.

Follow the simple steps that I have outlined below. It involves making a commitment to yourself and being willing to follow through. If you’re not ready to follow this exercise through to the end, you won’t be able to take advantage of the amazing results. And I guarantee that if you do see this through to the end, you’ll be shocked by what you can accomplish in a day and in a week.

  1. Track what you did yesterday – Write down everything you can remember; minute by minute, hour by hour. You can do this on your smart phone, computer or go “old school” with a pen and paper.
  1. Outline your ideal average day – What would your perfect day look like, even if you still have work and other obligations? This is your time to think big.
  1. Track your days for a full week – Write down everything you do for the next 7 days; include everything – leisure time, work, sleep, meals, learning, workouts, etc.
  1. Compare your ideal to reality – How do they compare? Are you wasting time when you could be doing something more productive? What would you change?
  1. Schedule the coming next week in advance – Try to plan your week according to your ideal average day. Watch and see how much more efficient you are when you plan everything in advance. You’ll feel more in control of your own life.
  1. Review your planned weeks vs. your “random” weeks – How do they compare, how are things better? Are you more efficient and find yourself accomplishing things that are more “meaningful?” What can you learn from the comparison?
  1. Get an accountability partner – Share your schedule with an accountability partner and review it regularly.

  • Checking emails
  • Meetings
  • Watching TV
  • Exercise
  • Time with family/kids
  • Going out with friends
  • Social activities
