P.S. I just read this the other day and it validates the points I just made:
“In the first year of all postwar economic recoveries, residential housing
investment has accounted for nearly one percentage point of GDP growth, says Doug Duncan,
chief economist at Fannie Mae. But today, it has accounted for around 0.1 percentage point of GDP growth.”

This is BAD NEWS. This means buying a house with bank financing is not
helping our economy. If fact, there are so few buyers who can qualify for bank loans it’s actually hurting the recovery.
